These numbers as of October 8th, 2012.

Refugees

  • Total of 328,000 refugees in 4 countries says the UN’s refugee agency.
  • Turkey is already host to 94,000,
  • Lebanon 78,000,
  • Iraq 36,000,
  • Jordan 105,000
  • Over 5,000 within north Africa.
  • The UN expects this to rise to 700,000 people by the end of the year.
  • 18,000 in Europe since March 2011.
  • 1.5 million in Syria require food aid.

Deaths & Detained 

  • Over 31,000 people have died in the conflict so far, according to the Center for Documentation of Violations in Syria,
  • Civilian deaths 25,000,
  • A similar number are reckoned to be being detained without trial.
