Brazil and China: Economic Allies, Competitors

Brazilian Vice President Michel Temer expressed his worries to Chinese businessmen visiting Brazil Feb 13, for the increased Chinese products in Brazil.

“We are worried about the incremental and indiscriminate increase of Chinese products in the Brazilian market, which is causing a rupture of Brazilian production”

Although majority of Brazilians wear “industria brasileira” cloths and shoes, but Chinese clothing and apparel makers have a growing presence.

“Our actual exported goods do not generate a lot of jobs and they are susceptible to fluctuating price volatility, supply and demand constraints, and weather conditions”
